On behalf of my co-founders John Course and Piero Giovannini, I am extremely excited to welcome you to Request Artists. I am writing this blog to give you an update of what we have been up to developing the business and how we can help you with your event, celebration, launch or festival.
Request doesn’t handle any club or music festival bookings, preferring to concentrate on corporate, private, special occasion or major events (racing, sporting, food festivals). We are initially focused on Victoria but have key artists in Sydney and a roster of talent that are able to travel nationally, thus capable of handling booking all across the country or even overseas should somebody wish to have one of our specific DJ’s at an international wedding or function.
Coursey, Piero and myself have all worked across the music, artist, hospitality and digital space for over 20 years each and have a great passion for quality events. We still run many of our own events and love them. Music is such an important part of most events and we want to make this easy for you.
John Course approached me last year for advice and had a concept of working with some of Australia’s best artists for private and corporate events. I loved the idea and I guess, because I have helped countless times to organise friends weddings or larger hospitality groups looking for artists for Spring Racing or special events, I could see the potential. We had some in depth discussions and John’s vision was to make it more than your traditional agency and I liked the technology angle as well in terms of automation, artist search filters, organisation and working with clients/artists.
I love finding a great name and Request Artists is on point, we love it! We couldn’t believe that we could secure the .com.au and social handles. We had a logo designed and decided the next steps forward was finding the right technology partner.
We workshopped the idea and then went to our technology provider Out In The Clouds and not only did they have previous music experience, We then investigated some third party options and tested them as we wanted to automate as much of the process of this as possible and we are pretty exciting with the ease of making a booking… simply Request an artist and fill in your details! A great deal of thought has gone into the process.
Our goal is to bring some of the best artists, not just mobile DJ’s but the actual DJ’s who have and do play the best clubs in Australia, to your Wedding, Engagement, 30th birthday, product Launch, sporting event, school formal or work Christmas party, EOFY celebration… You name it, but in a great way, the list is endless!
I am most excited about the talent of artists we have put together across so many music styles, genres and a mix of classic DJs and new acts. These are artists that can play any room large or small and have a great mix of music with a huge depth of musical knowledge. You can select to have John Course, Andy Murphy, Khanh, DJ Feline or a plethora of different artists play at your event and we are already talking to more agencies about offering additional acts too!
I also love the search functionality: you can search based on venue or event, e.g search via a specific style of music or search to find DJ’s who have played at your favourite venue’s e.g Onelove, OneSixOne or Bond, making a choice for an artist is so easy and fluid now. The artists are also experienced enough to work with you on specific songs you want to hear as well.
Request Artists can organize you the best DJ/artist for your special occasion but by partnering with Piero’s company Nightgrooves we can also supply Sound, Audio Visual, Staging and any specialty hire requirements. This simplifies the process but we are offering great pricing and one invoice for both talent and equipment.
Given our reach within the industry we also have great relationships with function venues, hospitality venues, photographers, videographers, car services, florists and catering groups that we can facilitate introductions to the best providers in the business that will offer great pricing and seamless experiences for your event.
